The Jungle Book is a collection of short stories related to Fantasy written by Rudyard Kipling during a four-year stay in Vermont in the United States. Kipling had lived in India, where the inspiration for most of his short stories came from. Each tells a story that takes place in the jungle, a forest located in a fantasy India where anthropomorphized animals typical of the country live, as well as men.
The short stories allow us to discover Mowgli's destiny from different sides. At the end of each story, a short song in verse, related to the latter, offers a poetic counterpart. This ode to positivism is symbolic for children of the ability to take advantage of every detail available to everyone to achieve happiness.
